Independence Hall - Philadelphia,Pennsylvania

So, first up on that day's agenda was to visit here. I'm sure you've seen this painting in your history books growing up:

Well, that took place in this building. One interesting thing that I learned during the tour about this picture had to do with the delegate that is signing the Declaration. Apparently he was the only guy whom the artist could not find a previous profile painting of. So to complete the painting without deviating from fact, he just "turned him away" from the viewing audience and everything worked out. Wanna see what the room looks like in real life? Here ya go:

It's pretty surreal to walk around in that building. The tour guide was pretty good, and they made a point to have different accessories on each desk in the real room to show where they thought each delegate sat back in the day. Pretty neat on their part. Also, the chair where George Washington would have sat is the original. Pretty amazing!
